Gates Offices. Ghent, Belgium, 2006

I was part of the project team while working at Conix Architects in Brussels, to design a new interior fit-out for the ‘Gates’ manufacturing headquarters in Belgium.

The company manufacture engine belts, which became the generating idea behind the “red ribbon” and main reception desk, which was lined in rubber. The desire was to express the company’s main product through form. The space was designed in such a way to incorporate dedicated zones within the open plan.

Manager’s offices, conference rooms and wet areas were animated through the use of super-graphics and bold colour throughout.
